Established in 1963, we are a self supporting non-political voluntary group with over 200 members. We have an executive committee which meets monthly and our President is Peter Shears, local broadcaster on Consumer Affairs and Professor of Consumer Law & Policy at Plymouth University.

Our main aim is to improve local consumer services and facilities and identify local retailers who go the extra mile in providing good customer service. We liaise with our local Trading Standards Department and often carry out surveys on products and services in conjunction with them. Through the National Consumer Federation we also contribute on National consumer issues.

The results of our activities are covered in our quarterly magazine which is mailed free to all our members and is readily available in all our local libraries.

Membership costs just £5 per year.
