Food Policy Group

Welcome to our page

The NCF Food Policy group, is formed from NCF members who have expressed a particular interest in food matters. Some of them sit on Food or Animal Health Committees or have done so in the past, some represent NCF at meetings, workshops and forums.

We keep in contact through a NCF group email. Items of interest which arrive at the NCF Secretary are forwarded to those listed as involved so that any member can draw attention to information updates and consultations. Reports on the meetings attended are circulated. A regular bulletin calls attention to Food Standards Agency and Dept of Food and Rural Affairs consultations.

The Group mostly use the group email to keep one another informed and to exchange views and opinions which aids NCF representatives when relaying consumer views to government, business and regulators.

Recently NCF members have commented on such things as: the modernisation of fisheries, school milk, the increase in listeria and advice on fish consumption.
